Security-First Architecture: RAKYN implements zero-trust principles, end-to-end encryption, and continuous monitoring across all platform layers. Your data is protected by the same standards used by leading financial institutions.
01

Security Overview

At RAKYN, security isn't an afterthought—it's the foundation of everything we build. Our platform is designed from the ground up with enterprise-grade security principles, ensuring your data, models, and operations remain protected against evolving threats.

We employ a defense-in-depth strategy that combines physical security, network segmentation, encryption, access controls, and continuous monitoring to create multiple layers of protection. Our security program is regularly audited by independent third parties and aligns with international standards including SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and GDPR.

Zero Trust Architecture

Every request, user, and service is authenticated and authorized. We never trust by default, even within our internal network. This principle ensures that compromised credentials or systems cannot cascade into broader breaches.

02

Infrastructure Security

RAKYN's infrastructure is hosted in Tier 4 data centers across multiple geographic regions, providing both redundancy and compliance with data residency requirements. Our infrastructure security encompasses:

  • Physical Security: 24/7 surveillance, biometric access controls, mantrap entries, and environmental monitoring (temperature, humidity, fire suppression).
  • Network Segmentation: Micro-segmentation isolates workloads, preventing lateral movement. Production, staging, and development environments are completely isolated.
  • DDoS Protection: Multi-layer DDoS mitigation at the network and application layers, capable of absorbing attacks exceeding 10 Tbps.
  • Intrusion Detection: AI-powered intrusion detection systems monitor network traffic 24/7, identifying anomalous patterns and blocking threats in real-time.
  • Redundancy: N+1 redundancy across all critical systems with automatic failover. Our platform maintains 99.99% uptime SLA for enterprise customers.
03

Data Encryption

All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest using industry-standard algorithms:

  • In Transit: TLS 1.3 with perfect forward secrecy for all API communications. Certificate pinning prevents man-in-the-middle attacks.
  • At Rest: AES-256 encryption for all stored data, including databases, file storage, and backups. Encryption keys are managed using hardware security modules (HSMs).
  • Customer-Managed Keys: Enterprise customers can provide their own encryption keys (BYOK) for complete control over data access.
  • Field-Level Encryption: Sensitive fields (API keys, credentials, PII) are encrypted at the application layer before storage.
Key Management

Encryption keys are rotated automatically every 90 days. Key material never leaves the HSM boundary, and all cryptographic operations are performed within tamper-resistant hardware.

04

Access Controls & Authentication

RAKYN implements granular access controls to ensure users only access resources they're authorized to use:

  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Required for all user accounts. Supports TOTP, WebAuthn/FIDO2, and hardware security keys.
  • Single Sign-On (SSO): SAML 2.0 and OIDC integration with enterprise identity providers (Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace).
  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Predefined roles (Admin, Developer, Viewer) with customizable permissions. Supports attribute-based access control (ABAC) for advanced policies.
  • Just-In-Time Access: Temporary elevated permissions for sensitive operations, automatically revoked after timeout.
  • Session Management: Automatic session timeout, concurrent session limits, and device fingerprinting to detect account sharing.
05

Compliance & Certifications

RAKYN maintains compliance with major security and privacy frameworks:

SOC 2 Type IIAnnual audit of security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy controls.
ISO 27001Certified information security management system (ISMS) covering all platform operations.
GDPRFull compliance with EU General Data Protection Regulation, including data processing agreements (DPAs).
HIPAABusiness Associate Agreement (BAA) available for healthcare customers handling protected health information.
FedRAMPAuthorized for use by U.S. federal agencies (Moderate impact level).
PCI DSSPayment Card Industry Data Security Standard compliant for processing payment information.
06

Incident Response

RAKYN maintains a comprehensive incident response program to detect, contain, and remediate security incidents:

  • 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC): Dedicated team of security analysts monitoring alerts and investigating potential incidents around the clock.
  • Automated Detection: SIEM integration with machine learning models to identify anomalous behavior and potential threats.
  • Incident Classification: Structured severity levels (P1-P4) with defined response times and escalation procedures.
  • Customer Notification: Enterprise customers are notified within 24 hours of any security incident affecting their data.
  • Post-Incident Review: Root cause analysis and remediation verification after every incident to prevent recurrence.
Reporting Security Issues

If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to security@rakyn.com. We offer a bug bounty program for valid vulnerability disclosures.

07

Vulnerability Management

RAKYN employs a continuous vulnerability management program to identify and remediate security weaknesses:

  • Automated Scanning: Daily vulnerability scans of all infrastructure components using industry-leading scanners.
  • Penetration Testing: Quarterly penetration tests by independent third-party security firms. Annual red team exercises simulate advanced persistent threats.
  • Bug Bounty Program: Public bug bounty program inviting security researchers to identify vulnerabilities in our platform.
  • Patch Management: Critical security patches applied within 24 hours of release. High-severity patches within 7 days.
  • Dependency Scanning: Automated scanning of third-party dependencies for known vulnerabilities (CVEs).
08

Data Privacy & Sovereignty

RAKYN provides comprehensive data privacy controls to help customers comply with global privacy regulations:

  • Data Residency: Choose where your data is stored (US, EU, APAC) to comply with data sovereignty requirements.
  • Data Minimization: We only collect data necessary for platform operation. Customer data is never used for advertising or sold to third parties.
  • Right to Erasure: Customers can request complete deletion of their data, including backups, within 30 days.
  • Data Portability: Export your data in standard formats (JSON, CSV) at any time.
  • Privacy by Design: Privacy considerations are embedded into every feature and product decision.
09

Business Continuity

RAKYN maintains robust business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities:

  • Multi-Region Deployment: Active-active deployment across multiple geographic regions with automatic failover.
  • Recovery Point Objective (RPO): Less than 1 minute for critical data. Near-zero data loss in disaster scenarios.
  • Recovery Time Objective (RTO): Less than 15 minutes for full platform restoration.
  • Backup Strategy: Continuous backups with point-in-time recovery. Backups encrypted and stored in geographically separate locations.
  • Disaster Recovery Testing: Quarterly DR drills to validate recovery procedures and team readiness.
10

Third-Party Security

RAKYN carefully vets all third-party vendors and integrations to ensure they meet our security standards:

  • Vendor Risk Assessments: Comprehensive security reviews before onboarding any third-party service.
  • Contractual Requirements: All vendors must sign data processing agreements (DPAs) and adhere to strict security obligations.
  • Continuous Monitoring: Ongoing monitoring of vendor security posture through automated tools and annual reassessments.
  • Subprocessor Transparency: Complete list of subprocessors available to customers. 30-day advance notice before adding new subprocessors.
